College Entrance Exam Information
Many
colleges and universities will accept either the ACT or SAT exam. Please check
with the individual schools to which you will be applying to find out which test
they require or prefer. Dawson County High School's code for both tests is
270385.
Registration packets and test preparation booklets are available in the DCHS Guidance Office. Students are also encouraged to register online at http://www.act.org.

ACT offers a 30-minute Writing Test as an optional component to the ACT. Students who register to take the ACT should decide whether to include the Writing Test based on the requirements of the institutions to which they are applying.
Seniors should test no later than the December test in order to get their scores back in time to apply to their selected school(s).
SAT
Test preparation booklets and regular registration packets are available in the DCHS Guidance Office. Online registration is strongly encouraged for the SAT. Students can register at http://www.collegeboard.org.
